UK limited companies

See your business the way lenders do.

Every UK limited company has a public credit file. Most owners have never read theirs — until a lender declines them and won't say why. Check yours free.

Accounts filed — cap lifted
CS01 due in 14 days

Your file is public. Almost nobody reads it.

Credit agencies pull your Companies House record automatically and score you on it — before anyone looks at how the business is actually trading. Here is what we do with the same data.

Read the register

Filing history, officers, registered charges, gazette notices and insolvency records — the whole file, not a summary.

Open your accounts

Your filed accounts are machine-readable. We pull net assets, working capital and cash straight from them — the same figures an underwriter reads.

Explain every point

No black box. Each finding says what it is, why an agency cares, and what it costs you — with the fix and what it's worth.

This is the whole report.

No teaser, no locked sections. Every finding on your file, in plain English, with what it costs you and how to clear it.

  • 1
    What it is

The finding itself, quoting the dates and figures from your own record.

  • 2
    Why an agency cares

The part nobody explains. What this signals to an underwriter, and what it tends to cost you in practice.

  • 3
    What to do

The specific fix, what it is worth in points, and how long before it shows on your file.

Filing micro-entity accounts

−8

Your accounts are filed under the micro-entity regime.

Micro-entity accounts disclose no turnover and no profit and loss account. Nobody can see whether the business trades profitably — so scoring models assume the worst.

All 4 sets of accounts on record were filed on time.

Brookfield Joinery Ltd granted a fixed and floating charge to a lender last week. They now have two outstanding. Worth reviewing their terms before your next invoice.

It discloses no turnover and no profit, so agencies assume the worst. Your accountant can file small-company accounts instead at the next year end — worth about 8 points.

We watch the register so you don't have to.

Your file moves whether you are watching or not. A charge gets registered, a deadline creeps up, a director resigns.

The difference between a score and an explanation

Credit reference agencies sell your file to lenders. Their product is the score. Ours is the reasoning behind it.

We are not a credit reference agency and we do not hold or issue agency scores. We read the same public register they do and explain what it says.

Reasonable questions.

The ones a sceptical owner actually asks. If something here is not answered, say so and we will add it.

Will checking my own company hurt my score?

No. Everything we read is the public register — the same pages anyone can view at Companies House for free. There is no credit search, no footprint, and nothing is recorded against you.

Is this my Experian or Creditsafe score?

No, and we would not claim otherwise. Those are proprietary scores built partly on trade payment data your suppliers report privately — that is not public and nobody can reconstruct it.

What we score is the part of your file that is public, that agencies do act on, and that you can change. The agencies state plainly that late accounts count against a company even when its finances are healthy.

Does a better score guarantee I get finance?

No. A lender weighs your trading, your sector, your security and your payment history alongside the public record. What we can tell you is what your record is saying about you before any of that gets looked at — and that is the part most owners have never seen.

How fast does the score actually move?

It depends on the fix. A confirmation statement lands the same week. Overdue accounts typically show through in four to six weeks. A change of accounts regime waits for your next year end. Every item in your plan carries its own realistic timeframe — we do not pretend anything is instant.

Can I check other companies?

Yes, on Pro. Run the same audit on a customer before you extend terms, or on a supplier you depend on. Same public data, same explanation.

Where does the data come from?

The Companies House public register and your own filed accounts, which are published as machine-readable documents. Every figure in your report can be checked against the register yourself — we would rather you did.
